The Living Expo & Hervey Bay City Rotary
Sat July 13th & Sun 14th 2019
Originally called “Rotary Garden Expo”, the now hugely popular “Living Expo” was first founded by your local Rotary club, in 1998. A joint venture between the Rotary Club of Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast Anglican College, the Living Expo was first held in the FCAC college grounds.
The following year, Rotary took over the management of The Living Expo, and recreated the event at Seafront oval. Profits are given toward the construction of Hospital House, a Motel-style accommodation that will be constructed within the grounds of Hervey Bay Hospital. Hospital House is designed to provide accommodation for families of patients from remote areas.
In 2006, Hervey Bay City and Hervey Bay Sunrise Rotary Clubs ran the event as a joint-profit venture. All proceeds went toward the Hospital House build. In future years, each club has taken turns nominating where the proceeds could be allocated, such as furnishings for a new Community Centre, the Rural Fire Brigade, Careflight, Wig Library, the All-Abilities park, Homelessness, Literacy, the Books for Babies program and many others.
The Living Expo has raised over $300,000 for our Hervey Bay Rotary projects, and continues to be a major contribution to high-quality events run in Hervey Bay each year.
Choose from food stalls, fresh produce, great travel deals, caravans, boats and displays of all shapes and sizes. Or simply contribute to the community through the Raffles and Prizes made available to all visitors.
Each year, The Living Expo attracts around 5000 visitors, and features over 150 stalls and displays, including merchandise, services and sometimes food from around the world. With a professional mix of musicians and entertainers, The Living Expo is a ‘must-attend’ for everyone! Come and Join the fun, family entertainment and expose that is “The Living Expo!”
The Living Expo will be offered at Hervey Bay State High School (2019) Saturday July 13th and Sunday July 14th. Gates Open 8am - 4pm each day. Entry $5.
